Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya which also preferred as JNV or Navodaya Vidyalaya is an autonomous body under the ministry of human resource & development government of India. JNVs are run by various Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) across the country. It’s a residential school affiliated to CBSE, classes from 6th to 12th standard. Every year Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti conducts an Entrance test Named as JNVST (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test) for Class 6, Class 9 and for 11th Standard
as well to enroll eligible scholars in Navodaya Vidyalayas of their respective district. The mission behind running such huge organization as Navodaya is to find talented students across the country, especially from rural areas of India and provide them quality education, nurture them and make them ready to build a great future for society. Navodaya Vidyalaya’s Motto Line Says – “Come to Learn, Go to serve” which really means their intention behind starting Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.
History of Navodaya Vidyalaya
The inaugural JNV was established in the year 1986. The idea of Navodaya Vidyalaya came into existence when the former prime minister of India Rajiv Gandhi schooling in the Doon school, Deharadoon. Doon school was a residential school but was too expensive to learn. There he dreamed about building a school for the Backward and Rural background students. Aim to start Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is to provide high-quality education with good learning facilities and Highly Trained Faculties. A Single JNV is dedicated to Unified and specific district across the country. Threshold with JNV, Jhajjar (Haryana) NVS Established Second Navodaya Vidyalaya at Amravati (Maharashtra) in Following Year. 33 After Foundation. Currently, there are 598 Navodaya Vidyalaya in India Almost in Every District, in Every State. (Tamilnadu is Exception)
Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) is conducted by Samiti every year throughout the country and select 80 merit student for each JNV. This entrance test design-developed & conduct by Central Board of Secondary Education. To enroll in 6th standard an Individual can apply for this selection test during class 5th. Similarly, NVS Conducts selection test for 9th Class and 11th Class which you can appear in class 8th and Class 10th respectively. Navodaya Vidyalaya offers reservation as in keeping with NVS policy which encompasses reservation for ST and SC (however not OBC), as a minimum 75% selection of students from rural regions, most 25% from city areas, constant 33% for girl students and 3% for disabled applicants.
